After School Rock

Teachers 2 Go has a proven track record with our successful After School Rock program.  In this program, we teach students to play and perform together. 
 
Our After School Rock program is for school-aged children ages 8 through 18 who have prior experience with musical instruments or singing.  Enrolled students are divided into age appropriate groups.  A core group of at least 3 students is needed to form the basis of each band, usually consisting of drums, guitar, and either bass or keyboard.  Then other instruments can be added, such as vocal, saxophone, etc. up to a total of 8 students per band.

The After School Rock program is designed to be an additional enhancement to lessons that are focused on specific instrumental instruction.

Students learn to play different styles of rock music by learning to play existing rock songs, as well as creating their own! The program may perform publicly, but the primary focus is on the joy of making music together in a band. 

After School Rock is a great way to motivate children to play music and continue their individual music lessons. (Kids who play in rock bands never quit!) The teachers we bring to you are professional musicians who play in bands themselves, and know how to teach children to perform together. 

We generally target one teacher to 3-8 kids in a band.  One other adult, such as a parent or school teacher, can be present to help manage the program.  Students must have some basic skills in their instrument and participate in outside development of those skills.  Instrument players can also contribute to vocals.  Students are responsible for their own instruments and amps and bringing their instruments to the school site.
