It also provides a safe and familiar environment to learn.
Age to Start Orchestra Instrument Lessons
Orchestra Instrument Lessons for children
Our general recommendation is that students begin piano and violin lessons no younger than 4 years old, and guitar lessons no younger than 7 years old. For all other instruments such as orchestra and band instruments, around 7 years of age is appropriate to start. For children younger than 4 years of age, we offer private instruction in general music with teachers that specialize in early childhood music education. Several factors to take into account when considering how old to start a child with music lessons include the child's emotional maturity, their ability to focus, and their current academic ability.
Orchestra Instrument Lessons for Adults
We like to say--you are never too old to learn. We have had students who have achieved excellent results from ages 3-97. (Yes 97!) We have many adult students, and some even take lessons along with their kids! We have adults who are complete beginners, some who haven't played their instrument in 20 years, and some who are more advanced students looking to take their skills to the next level. We have a teacher for every age, level, and stylistic interest. Our teachers all have proven methods and the experience to help you reach your goals. All of our music instructors are highly experienced in both teaching and playing their respective instruments. Our teachers are reliable, experienced, patient and fun.
